Embody the Fall Equinox

🍂 The Fall Equinox is one of those rare hinges in the year where everything balances—light and dark held in perfect equilibrium, before the slow descent into shorter days.

🫁 In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we begin to move into the Metal element: Lung and Large Intestine energy. This is the architecture of letting go. The Lung takes in what is essential. The Large Intestine releases what is not. Nothing extra is carried forward.

🌞 Late summer is digestion, autumn is refinement. In LA, the heat can linger for months after summer’s official end, so don’t edit too many items of summer clothing!

🗺️ In Katonah Yoga theory, this is where the map becomes more important than the momentum. We orient ourselves. We measure. We place boundaries so energy can circulate cleanly. Practice becomes less about output and more about precision. It’s a chance to organize. How you arrange your attention, your breath.

🃏 The tarot offers another lens for this seasonal transition through The Fool. Not foolish, but open. Curious. Willing to begin again without needing to know exactly where the path leads. As autumn arrives, consider where you might benefit from taking a small leap of faith, trusting the next step rather than the entire journey. Sometimes wisdom looks less like having a plan and more like trusting yourself enough to take the next step.

The equinox asks a simple but not always easy question: What stays, and what is finished?
